(2020)
Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantaja oli Espoon liikunta- ja nuorisopalvelut. Heillä on vuodessa noin parikymmentä yhteistyötapahtumaa, joissa toimeksiantaja on tukemassa tapahtumanjärjestäjää. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli suunnitella yhteistyömalli...
The commissioner of this thesis was the City of Espoo’s Sports and Youth Services. They have about twenty co-operation events a year, in which the event organiser is supported by the assigner. The purpose of the thesis was to design a model for Sports and Youth Services of Espoo. The model describes how the assigner supports and helps the sport club in organising the event. The sport club is the main organizer of the event and the assigner supports the main organiser. The objective of the thesis was to examine, through theory and development work process, what support the assigner offers to sports clubs in organising events. The theoretical framework in the thesis is structured around the themes of stakeholder analysis, event organisation and development work. The stakeholder analysis clarifies the purpose of the work and reviews events organised in Espoo by sport clubs and related stakeholders. Organising an event is examined from the perspective of a model, the event process and the service provision of the event. The stages of the event process are the idea, definition of goals, planning, implementation and closure, which also emerge in the model. The development process, conceptualisation and cooperation are addressed after the events. In the empirical section, development work process and conceptualisation are utilised. Essential matters from both sections were selected for this work. The process began with a benchmarking study that explored ways in which two other cities supported event organisers. After that, the results were compared to support provided by Espoo and development suggestions were given. This was followed by a first draft of the event model, after which the model was further modified. The core of the success of the process was the co-operation between the author and the assigner as well as open communication as a team. The completed event model is divided into five different domains, under which issues related to the event process and the role of the assigner are discussed. The model brings clarity and a wider understanding of the assigner’s tasks. In addition to this, the model can be used, for example, for new employee orientation and guidance. The event model also facilitates the implementation of the event process of sport clubs and cooperation with the assigner. The next step is testing the model and its extension to other event organisers, such as non-government organizations and companies....
